Stopping the spread of these apps is not easy. Riana Pfefferkorn, a policy fellow at Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered AI, described efforts to report and remove nudify apps as “kind of a whack-a-mole.” Some, she warned, are “gonna slip through the cracks because nudify apps are very canny about hiding themselves and their true purpose.”
