"Shaheen Shariff, an associate professor at McGill University and author of Sexting and Cyberbullying: Defining the Line for Digitally Empowered Kids, sees the focus on cyberbullying deflecting attention from its underlying causes: “Cyberbullying has become an industry,” she says. “But nobody is looking at the fact it’s systemic and kids are only doing what they see around them. I’m not saying they don’t have responsibility, but how do we get them to think about what they are posting and what the implications are?”"
