Google would pay record FTC fine under tentative Apple Safari settlement

Among the first to discover Google’s use of cookies on Apple’s browser was Stanford University graduate student Jonathan Mayer, who is working toward law and computer science degrees there.He came across the cookies while studying targeted advertising.
