Evan Brown pointed me to this interesting debate that's heating up again about "RSS Hijacking" by PodShow. This time its Todd Cochrane at Geeknewscentral and others. Michael Geoghegan's post details the removal of copyright information from the show's official feed, which is disturbing to say the least.
This debate is the same problem first raised by Erik Marcus last December.
On this topic, I've been considering spearheading an RSS legal guide. It's one among a few topics I'm interested in writing about. The RSS guide I'm envisioniing would be along the lines of the Podcasting Legal Guide I co-authored this year. What do you think? Is this the right time to deal with the RSS questions? Would a legal guide make sense, or are these issues better addressed by the community through a "best practices" document? Both?
