I'm off to London next week to give a couple lectures with my colleague, Elizabeth Townsend Gard, who is teaching at the London School of Economics this year. I'm totally looking forward to this trip and meeting up with some fun people to talk about podcasting and copyright issues while I'm there.
As I head to England, the events of this week surrounding my post from Monday on RSS hijacking will definitely be on my mind. Several people from the blogosphere and elsewhere have commented on the issue and proposed various solutions (check out Corante, Peter Forret, Om Malik, and Technorati, for starters). The dialog has been helpful as I understand the technical questions and think about how they fit (or don't fit) with existing laws. Interestingly, the earliest blog posts I can find about the topic are from Feb/March 2005 (see Danavan followed by Alex Barnett. These are some forward-looking podcasters...
I promise to post more on the subject -- in particular on the legal questions -- but for now, since I've agreed to represent Erik Marcus on this matter, I will keep my comments short. Stay tuned for more.
