The Golden Mean--the perfect balance between extremes--can be seen in nature, in mathematics and even the stock market, among others. It represents that perfect balance that allows a system to thrive, whether that system is a corporation, a region, or even society. Humankind has always sought this equilibrium.

Regional policies, competition law, intellectual property rights, and
public good are all competing elements of global trade?elements that are out of balance. Creating harmony between them requires a tool that not only intersects these elements, but offers a platform for communication and cooperation. Standardization can serve as the tool to establish the golden mean in global trade--if used strategically. This conference will start to structure standardization to serve as that tool.

Please join a specially selected set of participants to determine if and how standardization and the law can be changed to strengthen global trade.
