Justice Denied

R. Jeffrey Smith and Josh White of the Washington Post report on the Army's failure to investigate charges of abuse.

We had been told that one of the hallmarks of a just society was that it punished wrongdoers.  Not to fear: property rights violations by soldiers were prosecuted fully--"Many of the participants in such crimes were referred for courts-martial, while those who participated in beatings or abuse generally received lesser punishments, according to the documents."
