Check out Wildbits.com, where the owner reports that she was required to take down a piece of software because Apple had threatened to sue the webhost.
That software apparently permits iPod users to move their files to a new computer. I can understand Apple's concern--such software might facilitate copyright infringement--but there are also legitimate uses of such software (my G4 laptop, for example, to which my iPod is tied, went down in flames a month ago, and my iPod is marooned--I don't want to go through the work of trying to reload my CDs into a new laptop). It seems unfortunate that the arbiter of the dispute is the website host. Of course, Wildbits might find a new host, but it seems unlikely that many companies would be willing to face the risk of an Apple lawsuit.
