Ken Salazar, Colorado Attorney General, easily bested Pete Coors, Chairman of Coors Brewing, in the Meet the Press debate on Oct. 10.

Coors had accused Salazar of denying law enforcement the tools they needed to defend against terrorism.  When pressed by Tim Russert to identify specifically the tools that Salazar supposedly would withhold, Coors could offer no specifics.  Coors simply said "wiretapping," even though Salazar (and Kerry) would of course allow wiretapping, with judicial oversight.  Factcheck.org has accused Bush of distorting Kerry's position on this, and Coors is simply restating the lies about Kerry.  (See Factcheck.org, "Bush Ad Falsely Implies Kerry Would Repeal Wiretaps of Terrorists".)

The most telling moment in the debate occured when Russert asked Coors about his support for lowering the minimum drinking age from 21 to 18.  Coors repeatedly said that his personal view was that it should be lowered.  Is Coors planning to represent the people of Colorado, or the shareholders of Coors?
