We interrupt the election coverage to announce a new magazine I just discovered, called Kahani (the Hindi word for "story") aimed at South Asian kids in the U.S. The magazine's ambitions:
* short stories where South Asian children are the ‘cool kids’ for a change,
* fun activities, like puzzles, that teach about South Asia,
* a Spotlight series that focuses on a unique South Asian personality,
* book, Web site and software reviews,
* and an original kids’ cartoon strip created just for Kahani.
I would assume that a number of factors, some sociological or demographic, but many technological, enable such niche national publishing.
