Fun with RFID

By Stanford Center for Internet and Society on

RFID technology is on the verge of explosive growth and is in the news almost daily.  Although some of the privacy concerns are a little out-there (e.g., thieves selecting their victims based on purse-scanning), these smart tags definitely come with some scary potential for privacy infringement.  Wikipedia has a useful summary of the problem and some great links.  But I bring it up for no reason other than it helped me fall asleep last night after at least an hour of tossing and turning.  RFID turns out to be extremely amenable to acronym substitutions.  Here are four that I remember:

Really F*cking Insidious Device
Rational Foresight Is Destroyed
Rights Forfeitor In Disguise
Ready For Invasiveness, Dude

Send me yours and I will post them.
