Part of everyone's favorite Patriot Act was struck down today, namely the part about the FBI access to what should be confidential communications records. [Reuters is our friend] The fact that this has happened in an election year, no doubt, shows that there are still some judges that still care about the constitution and what "checks and balances" and all the things I am rapidly learning in law school. I'm relieved since that means that my degree will still mean something.

Rather than summarize the article, which will just show you all my biases, read it. Seriously... It'll be good for you.So how many people plan on watching the debates tomorrow? I've never seen one, but now that I am in law school there are about six bijillion events for it tomorrow. Some that will be more entertaining than others, those with drinking games, those that will have sleeping bags ready when it gets boring. I really, really don't want to go, since politics make me violently angry for some reason I haven't pinpointed yet, and neither candidate will address what I care about, namely technology, social rights, and giving me my tax refund. I'll have to see what else is going on tomorrow... like, for instance, paint drying viewings or chainsaw juggling classes.
