Don't Talk, Guantanamo Workers Advised

By Stanford Center for Internet and Society on

Guantanamo employees are advised by the Government not to speak with defense lawyers for Gitmo prisoners about events there, according to USA Today:

The document, obtained by USA TODAY, says that soldiers and interrogators are not required to give defense attorneys statements about the "personal treatment of detainees" or any "failure to report actions of others." It also says that refusing to cooperate with defense attorneys "will not impact your career."

It certainly appears that we have something to hide.

Should we not believe the voices a month ago saying that what differentiates the United States from the uncivilized rest of the world is that we, at least, acknowledge our errors and prosecute wrongdoing?
