Legs to Stand On

By Elizabeth Rader on

Open Source Yoga Unity v. Bikram Choudhury moved forward again yesterday with the filing of OSYU's Amended Complaint
On November 13th at the Case Management Conference the Court granted leave to amend to plead more allegations supporting OSYU's standing to bring the case.  The Amended Complaint also spells out OSYU's claims with greater particularity, including a claim for copyright misuse based on Bikram's asserting copyrights in works describing yoga to attempt to gain a monopoly on the teaching of the yoga described in those works.  Judge Posner's opinion in Assessment Technologies was an inspiration.
