Stanford Professor of Law Lawrence Lessig is the Founder and Director of the Center for Internet and Society. Executive Director Jennifer S. Granick teaches the Stanford Law School Cyberlaw Clinic, in which bar certified law students provide legal representation to clients on matters involving computer technology and the public interest. Ms. Granick also runs the day to day operations of the CIS with Associate Director Lauren Gelman, who directs and conducts CIS research on the interaction of new technologies and the law. Residential Fellows David Levine and David Olson supervise and conduct CIS litigation projects with Professor Lessig and Ms. Granick.
The CIS is ably assisted by Joanne Newman, the clinical Legal Assistant for the Center for Internet and Society. For the past seven years, Ms. Newman worked as a senior paralegal for Van Der Hout and Brigagliano, specializing in immigration, asylum and deportation defense law, as well as national civil rights class action cases. Ms. Newman is also the legal assistant to Stanford Law School's Youth and Education Law Project. She has a BA from UC Berkeley in Development Studies, and an MS from UC Davis in International Agricultural Development.
Rob Rosko is the Center's Web Guru. An IT Professional with a passion for all things web-based, Rob is assisting with the day-to-day running and future design upgrades to the site.
