Podcast and New Media Expo Is Around the Corner

By Colette Vogele on

So, it's that time of year again, and as usual I'm really excited to be attending the Podcast & New Media Expo. This opportunity is really unprecedented when it comes to connecting with other podcasters and learning to improve your skills and knowledge from pioneers in the field. If you're coming to the expo, and read this blog or listen to my podcast, it would be great to hear from you so we can meet up.

I'll be speaking on Friday, September 28th, on two panels. From 11:45-12:45, I'll be speaking on a panel moderated by Tim Bratton entitled Music Licensing for Podcasts and New Media - A Crash Course. My co-panelizers will be Kevin Arnold of IODA and Jonathan Kehl. We hope to leave attendees with practical "how tos" for licensing music (either in or out) of your podcast.

Later that afternoon, from 3:15 to 4:15, we'll be reconvening the traditional legal questions panel. (Nothing will beat the first year's title, but this year we're calling it: "Understanding Your Content Liability Risks in New Media: What Video and Audio Creators Need To Know Now".) Jeff Henniger and Jeffrey Hermes will also be panelizing, and it will be moderated by the ever thoughtful and on topic Denise Howell. This is typically a fast-paced Q&A for podcasters to raise questions  about all things podcasting. So come prepared with your questions! I know we'll try to answer them all.

Finally, between these two discussions, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, you will find me at the Digital Guru Bookstore on the Expo Floor for the signing the newly published Business Podcasting Book from the Podcast Adacemy.
