Tarleton Gillespie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Cornell University, with affiliations in the Department of Science and Technology Studies and the Information Science program. He is also a fellow with the Center for Internet and Society at the Stanford School of Law. His first book, Wired Shut: Copyright and the Shape of Digital Culture, will be published by MIT Press in April 2007 -- see more at http://www.wiredshut.org/. He is an associate editor for the journals The Information Society and Social Studies of Science. He teaches courses dealing with new media and society, copyright and information policy, and communication and information technologies.
