Nicolo Zingales

Nicolo Zingales is Professor of Law at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Rio de Janeiro, where he leads the nucleus of e-Commerce studies. Fascinated by the interaction of law, technology, and markets, his research is primarily focused on the roles and responsibilities of digital platforms and the interaction of the applicable (and international) legal regimes.

He is UNDP consultant and a non-governmental advisor to CADE, the Brazilian competition authority, Director of CPDP LatAm and the BRICS + Digital Competition Forum and sits on the advisory board of the International Review of Law, Computers and Technology. Before establishing his academic home at FGV, he worked as an academic in England (University of Leeds and University of Sussex) and the Netherlands (Tilburg University). He earned a PhD in International Economic Law from Bocconi University and a law degree from the University of Bologna.
