Discussion Seminar: Timothy Garton Ash / Free Speech: Ten Principles for a Connected World

The discussion seminar will feature Timothy Garton Ash (Professor of European Studies at the University of Oxford, Isaiah Berlin Professorial Fellow at St. Antony’s College, Oxford, and a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution) in conversation with Joshua Cohen, Faculty, Apple Univeristy & Jennifer Granick, Director of Civil Liberties, The Center for Internet and Society at Stanford Law School. The discussion will revolve around Garton Ash's most recent book Free Speech: Ten Principles for a Connected World (Yale University Press, 2016).

Timothy Garton Ash will also deliver a 2016-17 Wesson Lecture in Problems of Democracy on Wednesday, October 5 from 7-8:30 in Cubberley Auditorium. 

The Wesson Lecture and Discussion Seminar are co-sponsored with the Hoover Institution, the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, and the Digital Civil Society Lab at Stanford PACS
