"Because child pornography laws are so harsh and inflexible, underage victims whose sexual images are posted online can usually expect a quick response from police and U.S. websites. Danielle Citron, a professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, explains that if the image counts as child pornography, “you get law enforcement’s attention really quickly; there isn’t the question of ‘is this a crime?’…and you’ll definitely have a faster response from websites in the U.S., because they’re not immune from liability if they’re hosting child pornography.”"
