The following speakers will participate in the event:

Xiao Qiang, a Tiananmen Square activist and former executive director of the NGO Human Rights in China, now the Director of the Berkeley China Internet Project.

Professor Timothy Wu of Columbia Law School, currently visiting at Stanford Law. Professor Wu is an expert on international telecommunications law who is conducting research on the Internet in China.

Moderated by Lauren Gelman, Associate Director of CIS, who has written about this issue.

Come eat Chinese and learn about the legal and ethical obligations of U.S. Internet companies operating in restricted markets like China, as well as recent events like the jailing of Chinese journalist Shi Tao, whose identity was revealed to the Chinese government by Yahoo! Inc.
