If you read this blog, you may have noticed a new article listed on my CMU website or the Articles section of this blog. But in case you didn't, Granger Morgan (my Committee Chair) and I have a paper in the current issue of Issues in Science and Technology entitled "Protecting Public Anonymity" -- an arguement for protecting anonymity and a presentation of privacy design principles for engineers and computer scientists. Patriot Act Block

The AP (via CNN) is reporting that "U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero struck down a provision of the Patriot Act that authorizes the FBI to force Internet service providers and phone companies to turn over certain customer records." He also equated the importance of personal security with national security. Read more about Patriot Act Block
